Hal Finney was, by his own account, the first person besides Satoshi Nakamoto to run Bitcoin. On January 11, 2009 he wrote “Running bitcoin”. One day later, on January 12, he received the first Bitcoin transaction in history: ten Bitcoin from Satoshi, immortalized in Block 170.

In August 2009 he was diagnosed with ALS — in the same year in which he ran half marathons and trained for his first marathon. He kept programming even when his hands had long stopped playing along, via an eye tracker, and died on August 28, 2014. Since January 2022 there has been the Running Bitcoin Challenge, led by his wife Fran Finney — a running event in aid of ALS research.

How do I find the right size?

Is the Bitcoin21 logo embroidered or printed?

On this item the logo is printed, not embroidered. The print lies flat on the material and does not add texture.

How do I wash this correctly?

Follow the care instructions above. Technical fabric does not like high temperatures or fabric softener — both damage the fibres. Washing inside out protects the finish.

What if the size does not fit?
