The Bitcoin Sports Shirt carries the words “Proof of Work” on the front, printed flat so that nothing chafes when you sweat. It is 100% polyester with UV protection 40+, double seams at the stress points and a label you can remove if it bothers you at the neck. Choose from white, dark grey, navy and black. It dries quickly and does not cling to your back once you start to sweat. It is made for sessions where you heat up: strength training, intervals, functional training, cycling. The name refers to how Bitcoin is secured — work that is costly to perform and quick for anyone to verify, much like the reps nobody can do for you.

Bitcoin Running Shirt “Running Bitcoin”

The Bitcoin Running Shirt “Running Bitcoin” is lighter, at 135 g/m², and built for warm days and long distances. Mesh inserts on the back and sides let heat escape where it would otherwise build up, and it also offers UV protection 40+. The two words on the back are the ones Hal Finney posted on 11 January 2009 while running the Bitcoin client. A day later he received the first Bitcoin transaction from Satoshi Nakamoto, recorded in block 170.

The Bitcoin Running Shirt Hal Finney uses the same light 135 g/m² polyester, with mesh on the back and under the arms, a round neck and short raglan sleeves. Here the motif runs large across the back. Finney was a runner himself: in 2009 he had several half marathons behind him and was training for his first marathon. On all three shirts the lettering is printed rather than embroidered.

Which shirt for which workout?

For the gym, intervals or the bike, take the Proof of Work sports shirt. For longer runs on warm days, take one of the two running shirts, which are noticeably lighter. Both kinds also work as a base layer under a jacket, because the fabric passes moisture outwards.
